Testing Basics |The White T- Shirt

As some of you may know, around this time last year I made my test on a few basics, starting with the plain white tee. Unfortunately the interest died out then but I’m ready to give it another try.  “So why begin with the white t- shirt?”, you may ask; I think of a plain white tee, as mentioned previously, as a blank canvas almost. It can be styled in more ways than I can describe making it a universal classic.

Here I’ve chose to style my Everlane Box Cut Cotton Tee casually and comfortable, which from what I’ve see is what most people go for when styling a t- shirt. The fit of this particular t- shirt is easier to style than I had expected. The box cut ensures that there is no shape at all which I’ve grown to appreciate. It looks amazing with jeans and those “boyish” looks.

My Most Grabbed for Winter Pieces ’16/17

The weather’s been quite erratic and I’ve felt relieved knowing that I had a good amount of basics in my wardrobe to circle around whilst mother nature makes up her mind.

With the new season rolling in, although hard to tell with these current storms and sudden drop in temperature, I thought I’d share some some of the pieces I’ve turned to the most. During the fall and winter it’s been all about the basics for me. I have an undying love for my neutrals with a light touch of detail. My for sure go to pieces are my H&M white button down and grey mock neck top. You can NEVER go wrong with a classic white button down, as I and most fashion girls scream about repeatedly. When in doubt due to whether, shifting moods, or whatever else the universe throws my way, these basics are fail proof.

Key Piece |Mango Leather Pumps

Have you ever had a pair of shoes, or jeans, or a coat that made you feel powerful? Almost like you’re another person; a better more confident and poised version of your self. I’ve only owned these Mango shoes for a week and they make me feel that way, like I can do anything – as corny as that seems.

For the past few weeks I’ve been in a massive style rut, growing bored of the winter season and my wardrobe. A little retail therapy, although usually not the healthiest, seemed to help. I’ve been eyeing these shoes on Mango’s website for a long time. They were exactly what I needed. Another basic but definitely bold. They’re simple and subtle and make all the difference in my wardrobe.

A Little Bit About the Shoes

These shoes are genuine leather wit a pointer toe and 8.5 cm heel. So far they’ve proven to be easy to walk in at short distances, just enough for me to take my photos, grab a bite, & run home with ease. I bought a size 8.5 which fits true to size, a pinch larger but I like a bit of wiggle room for comfort. I will be testing these shoes in a future post on how they feel and how well they hold up after more wears.

Hi everyone & welcome to another post. This will be a quick one however. As you may know I am a massive lover of basics in the wardrobe and I’m always on the hunt for some really good staple pieces that could be mixed and matched with anything in the wardrobe. Lou & Grey is a great shop for finding nice quality pieces for fair prices. Now I will warn to some of you, some of these items are not vegan friendly. Although I myself am vegan I chose to still include these items as I want to help all of my viewers, my vegan and non vegan. This may not always be the case but for now I do hope you enjoy.

I chose these items because I love the potential versitility I’m seeing with these. Theyre great for the coming seasons and for mixing and matching with your other wardrobe pieces. I will be on the hunt for a vegan friendly alternative but for now I hope all of you are having an amazing week. xx

The Basic of Basics

Hello everyone and happy hump day! We made it halfway through the week and we’re awesome! Today, aka last week, I am wearing the basic of basics, denim. Denim is our timeless best friend, it never goes out of style and is ALWAYS on trend. And what better way to compliment a basic than with a basic? This day was all about comfort while walking all over campus and doing errands like a mad person and I chose to wear my Mango cotton tee. My H&M denim skirt are slightly stretchy, so they’re easy to walk in and don’t ride up much while walking long distances. Of course I am wearing my new favorite shoes, my Asos, on the go, mules. I added the denim jacket for that cool double denim look and to break up the monochromatic look. All of the pieces worn in this look are timeless, basic items that’ll out last most style trends and match with anything in my wardrobe.
